Monthly Salary:

Nursing Role / Typical Duties

  • Named Nurse module

  • Care planning from admission to safe discharge

  • Undertaking observations- e.g. B/P, Pulse, Temperature

  • Risk assessments and other documentation

  • Wound dressings

  • Drug administration

  • Working with multidisciplinary team members: social workers, Physio, Dr’s

  • Talking & reassuring patients and relatives

  • Provide hygiene needs to patients- e.g. bed baths, showering

  • Dressing & Feeding patients

  • Making beds & Cleaning equipment & Manual Handling

  • Ordering & Stocking equipment

  • Disposing of bodily fluids e.g. vomit, urine and faeces

  • Transferring & escorting patients

  • To maintain own personal development

Supernumerary Period:

All nurses employed will have a four-week supernumerary period. During this time, you will have an induction booklet to support your ongoing learning needs and objectives for this time. We also have regular reflection sessions with the Practice Development Nurses and Matron.

Nursing Training:

During the four-week supernumerary period, there are several in-house training sessions to help prepare you for working on your ward. We offer reflection sessions, specialist training, such as Diabetic foot care, tissue viability for example. There will also be ongoing training and development throughout your employment.

Shifts / Rota

You should know your working schedule 6 weeks in advance. Rotas are completed electronically and you are allowed 5 requests per rota. Most of the departments work long shifts. Long days start at 07:15 - 20:00, night duty starts at 19:15 - 08:00, you will do a mixture of these shifts over a four-week period.
